Sportsbook Tips and
Sportsbook
Sites I enjoy sports betting and have been a sports fan for most of my life. The online sportsbetting scene is quite a growing business these days. There are a lot of good sportsbooks online to choose from if this is your game. Most have good promotions for first time customers and also some on-going ones, so get listed to receive e-mails from the site also. With so many different types of wagers available, it's good to check different sites and see if they offer your favorite bets and also to look at the payoffs for different wagers, such as parlays and horse racing payouts. You may be able to find slightly better odds with a little time and effort browsing different sites. My main advice for online sports bettors is to make sure and double check your bet before hitting the submit button. Once your bet is in, you won't be able to change any bet or mistake you've made. I've made a couple of mistakes inputting bets that have cost me a bet or two and recommend that you take extra precaution and carefully place your wagers. Nothing like thinking you won a bet, but placed it wrong. To add insult to injury they happened to be parlays, so be extra careful when making entries. Look over the deposit and cash-out policies thoroughly because some sites charge more than others and charges will also vary according to the method used. Most of them will give you at least 1 free cash-out per month if you wager your deposit 1 time and don't charge for deposits. We've listed a few sites that we're familiar with that are quite reputable as far as customer service and collecting your winnings efficiently and in a timely manner. If you have any problems with any of the sites we have listed, send an e-mail and we will see that your inquiry is attended to in an efficient manner. We don't expect any problems that any of these sites can't handle, but if you do have one and can't get it resolved send an e-mail. Here's a couple tips for sports bettors from Sargie... 1.) I have a system that gives ratings from 1 to 5 on my plays and make my wagers accordingly. You should also rate your bets and keep track of them constantly. This information can help you in the long run as you can learn and see your trends in the way you've approached games and ways to improve and avoid costly plays that you should have otherwise chosen not to play. 2.) Most sports handicapping advisors make their money selling picks based on their information along with sports trends* that apply to a game. If your not willing to pay these advisors for picks such as myself, then I recommend you keep a notebook or two handy to keep information about teams and noticeable sports trends. As seasons go by, these notes will definitely help you win a couple bets more than you would without them. It's always nice to earn a win from your notes. 3.) Keep track of the latest aspect of games. ESPN, FOXSports, and SportsIllustrated, are a few good sites with good information along with sites such as NFL.com, MLB.com, NBA.com, etc. Most sports teams have their own sites also. 4.) I prefer professional sports such as the NBA, MLB, and the NFL and don't do much college betting. Others prefer betting on college games, hockey, soccer, golf, auto racing, and horse racing among the large assortment of wagers available. Whatever your preferences are, try not to have too many different categories. This helps to insure that you don't get overloaded with information gathering and miss critical stats and information that you otherwise wouldn't have missed had you kept the categories within reason. 5.) Games can often times appear to be a lock, but take these kind of games into careful consideration. There's always reasons why oddsmakers list the lines. Normally something is amiss such as a sudden injury or loss of an impact player. Rivalries and sports trends can also play a part. 6.) TV sometimes has to hype a team to make a game interesting, so keep an open mind when tuning in on the pregame stuff from the networks. 7.) I like to have my play/plays ready a day in advance to give some time for double checking stats and sports trends and gathering the latest information about the games. Overlooking a key stat or trend can be frustrating for a sports gambler. I normally wait till a couple hours before a game to actually put my bet in unless I think the spread will move away from my pick. 8.) Shop for a spread and save a half-point or so. Saving a half-point can add an extra win or two over a season. Every sports bettor knows how sweet a half-point win can be. 9.) Be sure to go with the sportsbooks that have been around and are proven online. There's a list of excellent online sportsbooks in our sportsbook sites section. Sargie and everyone at USATeamPoker.com, wish all our sports fans, the very best of luck! *sports trends can mean a number of things ranging from records on grass and turf, different stadiums or courts, match-ups that have gone one way, over/under spread records, team vs. team, back to back games, night/day games, record after a blowout, are among the many assorted trends out there.
